Volunteers from Bethesda House of Schenectady will be participating in the 33rd annual Carrot Festival at Congregation Agudat Achim on September 11, 2011.

Bethesda House of Schenectady is excited to have the opportunity to help spread our message to thousands of event attendees at this year’s Carrot Festival. Community members will be able to learn more about Bethesda House’s mission as an interfaith ministry to the homeless, disabled and economically disadvantaged citizens of Schenectady County, building a just, hospitable and inclusive community one person at a time by affirming the dignity and addressing the needs of each guest entering this “House of Mercy”.

Congregation Agudat Achim’s Carrot Festival falls on 9/11 this year. The theme of “Remember– Honor–Celebrate” recognizes the tragic events of this date, highlights the importance of remembering those who lost their lives, and honors those who fought for life as first responders at Ground Zero. The Air National Guard Band of the Northeast will join us in recognizing our local firemen and policemen as heroes. The Carrot Festival attracts nearly 4,000 people from throughout the capital region and surrounding states. In addition, there will be loads of great local produce, craft and jewelry vendors, delicious kosher foods, a petting zoo, police ID’s for children, and FUN kids’ activities.

The Carrot Festival is about friends, family, and community. Bethesda House of Schenectady invites all Carrot Festival attendees to stop by our table in the “Community Service Tent.” The Carrot Festival will be held on September 11, 2011 from 10-4:30 at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union St, Niskayuna.
