Education & Group Support

Women’s Group

  • Free and open to the public every Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Every week women meet in our hospitality center to receive support and counseling in a safe and confidential space. The group is facilitated by professionals from Bethesda House, YWCA, and Sexual Assault Support at Planned Parenthood.

Men’s Group

  • Free and open to the public every Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Through the power of discussion, men in the community work together through daily challenges such as health, parenting, violence and spirituality. The group is facilitated by Reverend Richard Parsons of State Street Presbyterian Church and outside guest speakers.

Nutrition

  • In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Bethesda House offers an on-going, six-week nutrition program. Participants learn about meal planning, nutritional information, budgeting skills, and the benefits of healthy eating habits.

Literacy

  • As a critical step toward long-term employment, guests and residents of Bethesda House can sign up for free GED tutoring and classes. Volunteers and agency staff assist with test preparation and job searches.
